Intro

The ‘Excel’ range of ceramic wall access panels has been introduced to cater for situations where minimal access is required to gain entry to Stop Taps, plumbing joints etc.. which are hidden behind a tiled wall partition.

Description

The recessed door is a lift out type which is held in place at the top of the door with a standard budget lock. The bottom of the door is held in place by an angle plate fixed to the panel frame. Upon releasing the lock, the door can be lifted away from the frame. The door tray contains a 12 mm thick factory fitted moisture board infill.

Construction

The frame and recessed door tray are manufactured from 1.0 mm thick Zintec Steel which is polyester powder coated to RAL 9010; 20% Gloss.

Dimensions

Various sizes can be manufactured up to approx 450mm x 450mm, depending upon the actual size of tile to be fitted to the door tray on site. ( For larger sizes refer to access panel type EX/WD/TD ).

Fitting

The frame is designed to be screw fixed through the side into suitable bracing within the Budget Lock Stainless steel collar & plastic dome plug wall/partition prior to tiling taking place. It is imperative that the edge of the tile fixed to the door tray is flush with the edge of the door to allow correct alignment of tile joints. After fitting of the finished tiled door into the frame, the gap around the door can be filled with a standard mastic sealant if required. This can then be knifed through using a stanley knife, when required.
