It is inserted directly into a pre-cut hole through the face of the ceiling prior to wet finishes being applied. BRE Test Report No. 218510 gave a rating according to BS EN ISO 717-1:1997 of 40 (-2 - 7)db. This is a 55 Minute Fire Rated (Integrity) access panel tested in accordance with BS 476: Part 22; 1987.

Construction

Constructed from 1.2mm and 1mm thick Zintec Steel, with a polyester powder coating of matt white Ral 9010, 20% Gloss (other colours available upon request). The removable metal door is filled with a 50mm thick layer of E-Coustiquilt sound reduction membrane and sealed at the An acoustic access panel suitable for use in any fire rated ceiling system within a building that requires some form of sound/noise containment. Dimensions

Any panel sizes can be manufactured to order within maximum and minimum dimensional constraints. For further information please contact our Technical Sales Department.

Fitting

The access panel will require independent bracing and support which is sufficient to secure and also allow safe opening of the access panel within the ceiling system. When installing the access panel, the actual size of structural opening in the ceiling needs to be +10mm greater than the overall panel dimension e.g. structural opening for 600 x 600mm will be 610 x 610mm.
