Intro

All Exitile Loft Panels are manufactured to BS EN ISO 9001. Exitile can offer Loft panels that conform to the demands of approved Documents L1 & L2 of the Building Regulations. They are designed to fit into any type of ceiling in order to gain access to gain access to domestic loft areas.

Description

The insulated, removable flush metal door is fitted with a continuous metal hinge, and is secured using a 3-point lock. Other lock types and safety chains are available upon request. The door tray is filled with 75mm Rockwool Insulation with a ‘K’ Value of 0.034 W/mK. This is a 1 Hour Fire Rated Access Panel which has been tested to B.S.476: Part 22:1987.

Construction

The LOFT/PF/FD is constructed from Zintec Steel, with a polyester powder coating of Matt White Ral 9010 20% Gloss (other colours available upon request). The removable flush metal door is filled with Rockwool Insulation and fully sealed at the back with a fire retardent smoke seal.

Dimensions

Sizes shown are overall dimension to the back edge of the frame. Non-standard sizes can be produced upon request. Sizes are applicable to both frames: 555mm x 655mm (hinged on short side) 530mm x 740mm (hinged on short side)

Fitting

Our loft panels are supplied with a picture frame surround, which enables them to be inserted directly into a pre-cut hole in the ceiling, and side screw-fixed into timber joists within the finished ceiling construction. Any size can be supplied (within maximum and minimum constraints) depending upon clear openings between joist centres. Upon request the panels can also be supplied with a beaded frame ready for tape and plaster skim on site. It should be noted that both access panel types require independent bracing and support which is sufficient to secure and also allow safe opening of the access panel within the ceiling system.
