Intro

Ceiling access panels specifically designed to fit into the structural membrane of the Armstrong Drywall Grid System.

Description

The access panel is supplied with a picture frame surround, allowing it to be inserted directly into a pre-cut hole in the completed ceiling membrane and is fixed into position using the frame clamps provided, and comes complete with a fully removable flush metal door. This is a 1 Hour Fire Rated Access Panel, which has been tested to B.S.476: Part 22:1987.

Construction

Constructed from 1.2mm and 1mm thick Zintec Steel, with a polyester powder coating of matt white Ral 9010, 20% Gloss (other colours available upon request). The panels are also available in Stainless Steel for use in corrosive areas (quote using product code and ref SS). The removable flush metal door is fitted with a continuous metal hinge and is secured using a standard budget lock. Alternative lock types can be provided upon request.

Dimensions

Panel sizes are governed by the actual grid size of the Armstrong Drywall System, and increase in increments of 150mm from a nominal minimum size of 450 x 450mm, up to a maximum size of 1200 x 1200mm nominal. When specifying the size required, please state the actual size of grid around the access panel opening e.g. 450 x 450mm, 600 x 450mm, 600 x 600mm, 1200 x 600mm etc.

Fitting

The access panel will require independent bracing and support, which is sufficient to secure and also allow safe opening of the access panel within the ceiling system. For panels greater than 600 x 600mm it is advisable to request the fitting of safety chains.
